BREIF DESCRIPTION

E-Transact can take your legacy application to the WEB in less than a week.

It does not even require you to control the application you want to display on the WEB. Powerful, robust and agile, E-Transact will strive to make the World Wide WEB come ALIVE.
Purpose of Product

The E-Transact product is designed as a middleware server which provides a simple development process for performing dynamic WEB page applications. It benefits both the external and internal program environment:

1. Internally companies can deploy a platform independent (MAC, WINDOWS, WINDOWS95, WINDOWSNT, OS/2, virtually any UNIX flavor) applications using the E-Transact server. The client workstation can be any platform with a Web Browser and TCP/IP support. This type of intra-net implementation permits legacy database and communications applications to be universally accessible.
2. Transaction capable Web Server development can be reduced by 70 - 80 % using the E-Transact server. In this role the E-Transact performs the transactions on the application just as a human user, using a terminal emulation sub-system to access and interact with the in-house application while serving internet users through the Web Server.

This is the only toolkit of its kind available today that does not even require the developer to have source level control of the remote legacy application. The interaction with the third party system is performed via an object oriented and fully automated terminal emulation system.
As a result this product enables its users to intermix internal systems with external third party systems such as Airline CRS system, Inter-bank systems, Cable company fulfillment systems and other service bureau environments where the companies use applications not under their complete control.

FUNCTIONALITY

Preparing the transaction application for the WEB is simple. The steps are:

1. Plan the WEB look and feel of the application.
2. Write the HTML tag language files using our protocol and any WEB authoring tool. Use our graphic user interface to develop the terminal interaction or imbed SQL and protocol commands directly into the HTML sources.
3. Write the calls to our terminal interaction templates if using terminal data source.
4. Test and debug the application.
As a result the organization can focus on the application and its logic instead of the communication details and network related programming. The toolkit provides sample transaction files as examples. TELEGENISYS is available to provide a completely customized application using the toolkit to fulfill client specifications.

Physical description

The E-Transact server is a Intel processor based platform running OS/2 Warp Connect. The system includes the following software components:
1. Warp Connect Operating System
2. IBM Webserver (Commerce Secure Version is optional)
3. Terminal Automation Sub- System (TASS) supporting (ANSI, VT100+ series, Wyse50+ , IBM3270, IBM5250, IBM3101, TV925+ series, and numerous others).
4. Development toolkit and documentation, and on-line help system.
5. Examples of system use with public network bulletin boards.

Requirements to engage the product

In order to use the E-Transact system the user must have:
1. Supported terminal access to the host application, or an SQL / ODBC data source. Alternatively a protocol linkup.
2. Serial / Network or alternative supported hardware connection.
3. A 24 hour connection with an ISP (Internet Service Provider).
4. Knowledge of writing HTML / SGML web pages with fields.

Operating Schema

Product Components - Hardware
Platform is an INTEL base processor with 32 - 64 Megabytes of RAM. The system components are assembled to client requirements, alternatively the client can simply acquire the software to install on any Intel processor based system running. The application requires approximately 1MB of RAM for each running session on the HOST application.

FEATURES

E-Transact
is a product that connects multi-user applications to dynamically formed WEB pages. Unique attributes of the system package:

1. Any terminal based multi-user application, even those that the user has no control over can be projected through a dynamic WEB page using this system's object oriented terminal emulation capability. The system runs up to 20 terminal sessions of the application per E-Transact unit. Screen interaction with host is performed using templates that mimic the behavior of a human user on the system. The templates may be imbedded into several programming languages:REXX, C, C++, BASIC,COBOL,FORTRAN.

2. Any SQL / ODBC source with the our database driver can be projected through the E-Transact server.

3. Any other data system using our customizable protocol link.

4. No CGI (Computer Gateway Interface) programming is necessary.

5. User writes and therefore has full control of the HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) templates (Graphics and layout). The return information fields are filled using our syntax (field1, field2 etc.)

6. Virtually any UNIX, WINDOWS NT, WINDOWS and OS/2 server is supported. Web servers are supported as follows:
a. Option 1 :Default configuration assumes a local WEB server running on the E-Transact unit.
b. Option 2: CGI scripts are available for several flavors of UNIX, Windows NT & OS/2.

7. Using non-proprietary industry standard hardware and software architecture, the system is an ideal toolkit for the development of internet and intranet applications.

TECHNOLOGY

Entire App Server -E-transact is developed in CORE JAVA which can run on any OS . There is a addon module written in "C" which sits on apache and communicates to the E_transact and enable Session Management, Webpage Rendering , Load Balancing and Clustering
